Let It Be, The Story

Updated: Oct 6, 2020

I have always had a large Love for the Group of men well known as the Beatles. This Band of four is made up of John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and Paul McCartney. This group of boys would go on the wright 188 songs and record 213. One of the most Famous being "Let It Be" Written by Paul McCartney . Is it just a coincidence this song may have done so well? Or could there have been a little more behind the scenes?

Paul was born June 18, 1942 to Jim and Mary McCartney. Sadly his mother would pass when Paul was only fourteen. Paul went on to join the Beatles and he would have a good time with the band.

Around 1968, later in the Beatles career there would be often creative disagreements and Paul felt as if they would soon break up. This lead to some pretty bad things including Heavy drinking, D\drugs, and clubbing. This was until one night his mom Mary would come to him in a dream. She would tell him to not worry and let it be, and everything would be alright. This seemed to stick with him and he would go to write "Let It Be". Famously the line would go "Mother Mary Comes to me, Speaking words of wisdom, Let It Be". Some fans believed Mother Mary was the Virgin Mary but Paul would later explain the song to the world, clearing up any confusion.

While this song did really well for The Beatles, this song has so much more behind it in what it stands for. Pauls story from struggling and being at his lowest point while finding the light for him to escape it all and sharing it with the world is truly remarkable. This son may help others find peace in life when people might not be their best self, and in my book thats a win.
